Doris Boerman (Arnhem, 1988) is a visual artist working in the media of sculpture and installation. Her work evolves from a fascination for the similarities between the white cube as a Modernist presentation model for art and the body as a post-modern presentation model for “self”. Within this focus she touches upon subjects such as the merging of high- and low culture, femininity, sexuality and architecture. She works between the Netherlands and Belgium.

‘Lindy, Lindsy, Britney, Beverley’ interrogates the construction and presentation of feminine identities in popular culture. With four types of natural wood and four different colours of artificial hair the sculpture talks about the public and the private as well as the performed and the lived.
