“L’Invention du présent”

Artists presented : Photography students from ESA Saint-Luc Liège

As part of BIP2024, young photographers studying at ESA Saint-Luc in Liège have been confronting the movements and visible transformations of our lifestyles and environments in Wallonia. Their testimonies have been combined with those of the photographic collections of the Musée de la Vie Wallonne, to shed light on the issues at stake.
Based on the themes explored by the Museum’s collections, the images produced by these young photographers reflect the changes, developments and upheavals that have taken place over the course of history and in Wallonia. Images, archives and objects are brought together in a dialogue between a look at the past and a questioning of the present. The exhibition is conceived and realised by students during a week-long residency at the Biennial.

During the opening and until 21 April, B1 students will also be selling posters to raise funds for their end-of-year projects.
